Instagram has added two new effects for creating stories – Window and Pop-up.

How to use Window and Pop-up modes in Instagram Stories

Window – this effect allows you to add a background and make a history window on top.

Pop-up – the same thing, just the opposite: we add a story and on top of the window any picture or video.

Step 1. Open the story’ camera and select the desired mode. The square on top of the chess background – it’s the Window, the square with the chessboard next to the person’s icon – it’s the Pop-up.

Also, these effects can be found by searching for effects.

Step 2. Add images and select a frame.
Window: use a video or an image as a background. To add, click “Add Media” and select it on the device.
Pop-up: add an image to the frame. To add, click “Add Media” and select it on the device.

To change the shape of the frame, simply tap on it. There are five options available: rectangle, square, circle, heart and arch. The frame can be stretched and squeezed.

Step 3. Writing history. Click on the big button in the centre to take a photo, or hold it down to record a video.

Step 4. Publish the story.
