Here are just a few frequently asked questions from our customers.
No, unfortunately not. Your order can only be shipped by Ground Service (FedEx is our carrier). Due to the flammable materials in our products, they cannot be transported by air. Therefore, we are not able to make any rush deliveries, including next-day or any air services. Please see our SHIPPING INFO page for more information about our shipping services and delivery times.
Our poppers are not spring loaded or compressed. They do have a tiny amount of powder to create the ‘pop’ when you pull the string. The amount is very small, small enough for the federal government to classify these products as ‘novelties’ and not as fireworks or pyrotechnics or explosives. This status was awarded after testing by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This is the definition as awarded by the CPSC:
“Small devices with paper or plastic exteriors that are actuated by means friction (a string or trigger is typically pulled to actuate the device). Upon activation, the device expels flame-resistant paper streamers or confetti and produces a small report (popping sound). Devices may not contain more than 16 mg (.25 grains) of explosive composition, which is limited to potassium chlorate and red phosphorus. These devices do not require approval from DOT (Department of Transportation) for shipment unless transported by air.” (All BuySparklers.com products are shipped only by Ground Service.)
Our sparklers are double dipped for extra brightness and longer burn times. A regular match or lighter will NOT be strong enough to light the sparklers. We suggest using a BBQ lighter to light the sparklers. When lighting the #36 Inch Wedding Sparklers or the #20 Inch Wedding Sparklers, we provide a small box of #10 sparklers to help the lighting process. Just light the #10 inch sparkler with a BBQ and then dip unlit sparklers into lit sparklers for a faster lighting process.
The sparkler wire will be hot for quite some time after it has burned out. To prevent injuries, we suggest having a bucket with sand or water nearby to put the burned sparklers in. Your wedding venue will thank you for not finding sparkler wires throughout the property.
The best way to light sparklers for a grand wedding exit is to have several helpers ready with BBQ lighters or punks. Place helpers at the front of the line, the back of the line and at the center of the line. Once a few sparklers are lit, have guests dip their unlit sparkler into the lit sparkler and lighting process goes extremely fast.
Light the flat, white top of the tube with a BBQ lighter – be sure to point away from face and body. Once lit, our sparklers create a spectacular spray of lights shooting 6 – 8 inches in the air.

No, there is no such thing as a smokeless sparkler. If you are looking for a sparkler that emits less smoke, then be sure to choose any of our sparklers made out of metal wire (#10, #14, #20, #36). Do not buy bamboo stick sparklers as they produce significantly more smoke and will ash off as they burn down the stick. The ash can be very messy and we don’t recommend them for formal occasions.
No, under TSA regulations, sparklers are not allowed on a plane since they are flammable. If you are flying to a location in the continental US, we can drop ship them for you.
No. The sparklers will produce a gold metallic hue when burned. Federal regulations prevent the silver sparklers from being imported due to their chemical makeup.
Our sparklers have a shelf life of 3 years as long as they are kept in a dry location. You can order your sparklers at any time and check that item off your to-do list.
In general, you can count on at least 1/3 of your guests leaving before your grand exit. You will not need a sparkler for every guest at your wedding. You can always order extra to create those magical sparkler photos.
That depends on the number of guests attending the wedding. For weddings with 50 guests or fewer, our #14 Inch Gold Wedding Sparklers will be perfect. They have a burn time of 1.5 minutes and that is all you will need.
For weddings 50 – 150 guests, we recommend our #20 Inch Gold Wedding Sparklers. They have a burn time of 2 minutes and will have ample burn time for the bride and groom to make their exit.
For weddings with over 200 guests, we recommend using our #36 Inch Gold Wedding Sparklers. With a burn time of 4 minutes, guests will all have a lit sparkler when the bride and groom make their sparkling exit.
