It seems that Google is pushing more and more to verify the business profiles of companies through video.
Since the end of 2021, the company has set this verification method as the default option for newly created business profiles. However, now more and more specialists are faced with the fact that video verification is offered as the only option.
Joy Hawkins, Google Business Specialist, confirmed this trend, saying that she’s increasingly seeing Google prioritize review by video over everyone else.
Note that according to current Google documentation, valid verification methods for Business Profiles include a phone call, text message, email, video recording, live video call, or postcard with a unique verification code.
