Facebook Messenger rolls out new privacy protection features

For Safer Internet Day, Facebook Messenger has new security features to help you avoid unwanted communication.

Next to privacy settings, Messenger now has three new options.

Now it will not be so easy for spammers to send unwanted photos, which are often received by women. Facebook is trying to make it easier to file a harassment complaint; the response to the complaint will become more detailed.

It’s even easier to view blocked accounts and set new filters on requests.

In addition, Facebook is taking steps to protect minors. Based on behavioural signals, the social network can find out when an adult sends a large number of requests to minors; potentially dangerous accounts are found and blocked.
